Petalyn Coffee Table

This feels more like a statement piece than a standard coffee table. The walnut columns give it a strong shape without making it look bulky.

The open-pore finish on the walnut is beautiful. You can still see the grain clearly, which keeps the darker colour from looking flat.

I wanted something that did not look like another basic round table. The column design gives the room much more personality.

I normally avoid high-gloss furniture, but the contrast with the walnut is actually quite nice on this piece. It makes the shape stand out.

The table is the first thing people notice in our living room now. It works best if the rest of the space is kept fairly simple.
